Adult Ministry

WellSpring has a heart for relationships which go beyond a typical, "How are you?"  "Fine."  (Are we really?)

At the core of every individual’s life is a need for honest, authentic relationships—with God and with God’s people. God actually wired us this way!  WellSpring's Adult Ministries help you strengthen your relationship with God and others. Relational, Biblically-based small groups and other activities help you to not only know about God, but really know Him.  And equally important?  We get to know the nitty-gritty of each others' lives.  We are inspired to know that we all struggle with the same things, and, as Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 exhorts, "Two are better than one, for if one falls, the other can lift him up.  A cord of three is not easily broken."

Most of us at WellSpring have been part of groups--even great groups--where the most significant detail we remember is sadly the back of someone's head.  We are intentional about breaking down barriers in a relaxed, non-threatening environment as we seek to leave ourselves behind and become more like Jesus to a thirsty world.  Some of our small groups meet weekly, twice monthly, or seasonally.  There's a location and a schedule for everyone who seeks to dive deep!

We make it a priority to partner together for events that seek to both serve the community and lead others to the quenching Source.  These have included servant evangelism projects (scrubbing area businesses' restrooms, handing out bottles of cold water, playground clean-ups, timechange reminders, etc.), working to minister to the littlest at Wetumpka's Adullam House, planning outreach events such as sponsoring the Christian parody band Apologetix, sharing Trunk or Treat with residents of the Smith Center in Prattville, caroling at area nursing homes, and having worship and special events at area parks.

Most recently this year, we supplied hospital and funeral home waiting rooms with Kleenex, carried "mending heart" kits to area hotel and retail workers, prepared gift baskets for the caregivers at Adullam House, and visited the area daycare centers at closing time with carnations for the tired moms on Mother's Day Weekend.

But this is just a start!  How will they know we care unless we take that care to them, strings unattached, simply to show Christ's love for them in a practical way?

Want a blessing that will far surpass your wildest imagination?  Want to dispute the myth that the church exists only to feed itself?  Join us for our monthly Servant Evangelism Outreaches that remind us that "Small things done with great love will change the world."  The church needs only to LEAVE THE BUILDING!
