The Apostle Paul challenges Timothy to continue to grow closer and stronger in the faith.  In order to understand what it means to "fight the good fight" we have to look at the local context.  From there we see the first step is to "flee" those things that can hold us back in our persuit of a warrior walk with God.  In this sermon, we look at the local context of Chapter six of first Timothy and see the three things that Paul encouraged Timothy to flee before he can persue the deeper walk with God.  Come join us as challenge ourselves to flee.  Sun, 07 Jan 2018 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/49073.mp32251 When Faith and Fear Collide When Faith and Fear Collide Numbers 13 and 14   The first thing we realize when God is doing a New Thing is that he causes a crisis of faith.  We realize that our fear and our faith crash into each other.  When this happens, faith has to win!  In this message, we are looking at the spies who went into the land of Canaan and how they faced their fears and failed to walk in faith.  Sun, 08 Jan 2017 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/42249.mp3 A New Thing - Introduction Theme Verse for 2017   Understanding the background of this verse, we move to understand this in light of our situation as a church today.  It is clear that we have to face the facts about our situation and avoid the tendency to look back and live in the past. God is doing a new thing - this means things are going to change - but we know that things will change according to His will and purpose.  Bring it on! Sun, 01 Jan 2017 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/42248.mp3 The Adventure - part 5 - The Temple The Adventure - Part 5 Luke 2:22 - 38   We finish this sermon series with a part of the Christmas story which is after the birth of Christ and before the arrival of the Magi, and we do this because this moment in human history is often missed and overlooked.  On the 41st day of Christ's life, after Mary's purification period, Jesus is brought to the temple to be dedicated to God. Many may see this as a religious duty, but the reality is that this is the moment that Jesus who is OUR temple came to begin the transfer of power from the temple on earth to the Holy Temple who is Jesus Christ.  The moment is confirmed by Simeon and Anna, but the point is clear that the adventures of God have a specific purpose that is stated clearly by these two prophets of God - to bring salvation, revelation, and glory to God through Israel toward all the world!  Any adventure from God - will always have the same purpose - and requires the same realization!  Praise be to God! A special Thank You to Wayne Mainor for reading his poetry as part of our service! These shepherds become messengers on a mission with a message following a miracle.  This message is followed by three songs from our worship team led by our worship leader Micah Williams. It is so important to understand that the adventure always begins with God and is His initiative.  Our response to the call of God is to submit and trust for the future. This sermon has music at the end from our Praise Team led by our worship leader Micah Williams. Friends I Tim. 4:12   In addition to courageous men and women - our young people are facing precarious times. According to many of the statistics, 70% of them drift away during the ages of 18 - 24 years old and only about 35% of them ever come back.  They face the challenges of a secular and sexual media, anti-Christian professors and employers, and a society, in general, that does not affirm their faith in the Bible, Jesus, or God.  In first Timothy, Paul is addressing a young man whom he helped bring to faith and to leadership and he challenges this young man to teach the other youth to live a life of courage. We are using a trailer from the movie, "God is not dead" as an introduction to some of the challenges our students will face in college. We end with music from our praise team led by Micah Williams.  Sun, 13 Nov 2016 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/41125.mp3 Courageous Women . Wives . We use a clip from the movie "War Room" as part of this sermon to challenge our people and especially our women to rise up and stand firm. We have music from our praise team led by Micah Williams at the end. Advancing Through Adversity - Part 4 - Advancing in His Power! 2 Chron. 20:14 - 30   Finally we see the end of the story of Jehoshaphat's adversity.  After advancing in place by getting his mind and heart turned to God and after calling together the people of God to pray, fast, and proclaim God's power and ability, He now hears and responds to the word of the Spirit and sees the power of God displayed in his weakness. Advancing Through Adversity - Part 3 - Advancing Together! 2 Chron. 20:3b - 13   We all face adversity of many kinds from many roots and how we face the adversity speaks volumes about who we are.  Jehophaphat is facing a vast army coming against him and he shows us how to overcome our enemies God's way.  He first turned his face and heart to God to seek his way.  Then, the second part of the process, he calls together the community to fast and pray and seek the help of the Lord.  When they are gathered at the Temple in Jerusalem, Jehoshaphat prays and declares one of the most powerful statement prayers in the Bible.  If we would gather others to pray with us and pray this prayer, there is no way we will miss the power of God being displayed through adversity.  Sun, 09 Oct 2016 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/40467.mp3 Advancing Through Adversity - Part 2 - Advancing in Place Advancing Through Adversity - Part 2 - Advancing in Place 2 Chronicles 20:3a   What is the first thing you do when you are faced with a huge challenge, problem, tribulation, or temptation?  The truthful answer for most of us is that we respond to the natural fear that comes with the situation and we immediately begin to plan our exit from it using whatever means available to us.  Many times, this just leads to more problems because we make decisions based on fear rather than faith.  In todays message, Jehoshaphat shows us that the has learned from previous mistakes and makes a mental and spiritual decision to seek the Lord first. Before we can advance forward through adversity, we have to advance in place by turning ourselves away from fear and completely toward God while releasing our control of the outcome. Our goal is to Keep It Simple! I have included a worship set from the WellSpring Worship team led by Micah Williams at the conclusion of the sermon.  Sun, 11 Sep 2016 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/39731.mp3 Radical Simplicity - part 3 - Real is Right! Radical Simplicity - Part 3 - Real is Right Matthew 6:5 - 15   The second area that Jesus addresses to the crowds in the center of the sermon on the mount is the area of public prayer.  It was an essential part of what it means to be a Jew and a Christian.  Like giving and fasting, prayer is powerful when the body comes together to worship, pray, and serve together.  However, like giving, the Jews had made prayer complicated and religious and lost sight of the radical simplicity that Jesus demands.  This sermon addresses the importance of corporate prayer while stressing the need for praying "to the Father" rather than "to be seen of men". We look at the Simplicity of the patter of prayer given to us by Christ as we submit ourselves in dependence to God The Father. Sun, 04 Sep 2016 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/39593.mp3 Radical Simplicity - Part 2 - Less is More - With Music   Radical Simplicity - Part 2 - Less is More   One of the promient gods that compete with God The Father in our lives is money and wealth.  Jesus spends chapter 6 speaking to three things that are essential parts of the Christian faith as well as the Jewish faith, but how these things can be misused to become a competing master with Him.  Why do we give and how we give speak volumes about our "first love". We end this message with four practicle ideas from Richard Foster's Book, "Celebration of Discipline" on how to keep wealth in check. Our song on this audio is "Yahweh" led by our worship leader Micah Williams and supported by Danna Beale. Sun, 28 Aug 2016 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/39461.mp3 Why Simplicity?   In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus is the middle of the Sermon on the Mount.  This three chapter sermon could also be called the Sermon on Simplicity because it states in the clearest and simplest terms what it means to be a Christian and live the Christian life. In this first sermon in the series, we ask ourselves, "Why Simplicity" - why does it matter, what is this all about.  We will focus on two scriptures from Matthew 6 to answer that question. Sun, 10 Jul 2016 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/38272.mp3 Maranatha - Part 2 - The Panorama with Music The basis of our understanding of the doctrine of the Second Coming of Christ is a large amount of Biblical evidence that supports this idea. In terms of the first coming of Christ, the incarnation, we know that there were over 300 prophecies that foretold about many aspects of his birth, life, death, and resurrection prior to it happening.  All of these prophecies were fulfilled to the letter.  However, when it comes to the Second Coming of Christ, there are over 500 verses both in the Old and New testaments speaking about this event.  If we believe that the prophecies were fulfilled regarding His first coming, why should we not trust the prophecies and promises of His Second Coming? In this message we center on John 14:1-3 as the foundation stone of the doctrine and we see a brief overview of the prophecies of the Old Testament and the promises of the New Testament that refer to this event.  These scriptures fall into six managable catagories we can use for our overview. Special music:  Following the message, there is a song from our service led by our worship leader Micah Williams called, "I am a child of God" we pray this song and this message will touch your heart. In Acts 1, Luke tells us that Jesus spent 40 days with the disciples detailing His plan for the Kingdom of God.  During this time, Jesus explained four mandates for them and for us.  First, the mandate to know that Jesus resurrected from the dead.  Second, that they were to wait for the empowering of the Holy Spirit.  Third, they were to be His witnessess both locally and around the world.  Then finally, the Maranatha Mandate, the two men in white stated the point - "this same Jesus will come back in the same way you saw him rise." This leads us to an understanding that the Maranatha Mandate is that we live our lives with an expectation of Christ' return every minute. We live and act with awareness of his return. Carpe Diem - Part 2 - When God Shows Up!   We looked at the first part of the equation last week - Facing that we are in an impossible situation - Frustrated that those with the resources and authority are inactive - Finding a friend who shares your vision - Faithfully risking to show God's glory - all of this is a simple example of what is found throughout the scriptures - God expects us to walk in faith by taking risks of faith.  Today, we will see the second part of the equation, when God finds people willing to take the risk of faith and join HIM in HIS work, he then shows us to do the work - to demonsrate His glory and strengthen OUR faith for the next time. Risen- Part 4 - Alive with Christ!   As we conclude this Easter series of sermons, we end where we started, realizing that doubt is part of the struggle to solve the mystery of Easter and we will be asking the final question from the outsider's point of view, namely, "What does this matter to me?".  Using Ephesians 2 as a basis for the comparison between before and after we receive Christ, we will look at the difference between an unbeliever and a beleiver - their position, their purpose, their promise, and their plan.   What you will hear first is the trialer from the movie "Risen" that we have been using a basis for this series.  Sun, 27 Mar 2016 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/35867.mp3 Risen - Part 3 - Facing the Facts - Bonus - Praise Team Music Risen - Part 3 - Facing the Facts   When a person comes to the reality of the historical event called "The Resurrection of Christ" they face, as all people do, the doubt that challenges them.  Their old paradigm that people cannot be risen from the dead is challenged by the facts of what is the most researched event in human history and they are forced to either accept or reject the truth. One of the questions that a person would ask is, "Why do you believe in the resurrection?" and our answer may have eternal consequences. In this sermon, we look at the four of the primary reasons why we believe in the resurrection as a historical/Biblical/Spiritual reality.  BONUS   We begin and end with our praise team singing a song called "Give me faith", led by guest praise team leader Jacob Mainor.  Sun, 20 Mar 2016 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/35825.mp3 Acts Session #18 - 11:1 - 30 Wed, 16 Mar 2016 18:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/35875.mp3 Risen - Part 2 - Testing the Theories - Bonus - Praise Team Music Risen - Part 2 - Testing the Theories   When we come to the Resurrection event, we will be dealing with many doubters both inside the church and outside in the world.  These doubtes will have to walk through the door of doubt if they are going to come to true faith!  There are many questions that people who look at the resurrection of Christ from an outside point of view can ask, but in this message we look at two of the foundational questions that we will need to answer for ourselves and for others: 1) What if the resurrection never happened? (What does it matter?), and 2) What are the theories about what happened to the body?   For the unbeliever, this door of doubt leads them to truth.  For the believer, the door of doubt leads to faith and confidence in their witness for Christ.  It is time for all people, wherever you are in the doubt spectrum, to test the theories and decide what you believe so you can have faith in the Risen Savior! Lack of boundaries in any relationship leads to frustration, anxiety, and anger becuase participants are unsure of the rules and unclear in the path to pleasing the other person in the relationship.  With our children, especially, we have to lay down clear and concise rules with both natural and logical consequneces so they will know what it means to obey, to honor, and to be brought up by us as parents.  Sun, 14 Feb 2016 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/34898.mp3 Parenting on Purpose - part 1 - The Gameplan with music   To set the stage for our series on "Parenting on Purpose" we have to begin by establishing the foundation of parenting first - That our children are God's first!  Then we will layout a strategy for our conversation over the next three weeks by talking about three hats that parents wear. At the beginning of the sermon is a humorous parenting video clip (audio only) that introdcues the challenges of parenting in a football coaching motif - this is great because we are looking forward to Superbowl 50 in San Francisco later today.  After the sermon, I have included a song from our worship team called "Revelation Song" with the lead by Elizabeth Mainor and supported by our worship team under the direction of our worship leader Micah Williams. In this amazing scripture, the psalmist gives his Hallel praise to God and commits himself to praise God all the time with all that he is, warning us not to trust people, but to be "blessed" by getting our help and placing our trust in God alone!   Sun, 08 Nov 2015 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/32451.mp3 Acts - Session #3 - 2:1 - 21 Acts of the Holy Spirit Session #3 - Acts 2:1-21 Wed, 04 Nov 2015 18:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/32354.mp3 Psalms of Praise - Part 1 - A Call to Praise - Psalm 145   In Psalm 145, the identified "Psalm of Praise by David", the psalmist uses an "accrostic" methodology to identify why praise is necessary. When we allow anxiety and worry to invade and overwhelm our hearts, we find ourselves in a cloud of fear that had disasterous effects on our personal, relational, and spiritual lives.  We have to face up to the results of anxiety as we prepare for the remedy starting in a couple of week. In this sermon, we will look at the third root for our anxiety - faithlessness.  In this passage Christ brings out three bold words that frame our discussion.  Join us as we see what Christ commanded about worry! I have attached the sermon outline in the bulletin for this Sunday. Sun, 05 Jul 2015 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/29170.mp3 Be Anxious For Nothing - Part 3 - Root #2 - Worldliness   The second "Root of Anxiety" is our dependence upon the world.  As we look at I John 2:15 - 17, we find the simple command, "Do not love the world or anything in it". This sets us at odds with the world in which we live.  Our dependence upon things, people, or position will steal our joy and peace and leads us to sin. Only a complete submission to God of everything we have and everything we are will lead us to live out this goal of "Be Anxious for Nothing!"   Sun, 28 Jun 2015 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/29075.mp3 Be Anxious For Nothing - Part 2 - The Roots #1 Expectations Be Anxious For Nothing - part 2 - The Roots #1 - Expectations   After we establish the first realization that God has called us to peace in our lives.  The next part of the living out of Phil. 4:6 and 7 is the process of identifying where our anxiety comes from.  Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at several roots of anxiety that plague our Christian life. The first one is dealing with people and specifically our expectations of people.  The Outline is provided in the "Sermon Outline" upload option. In John 11, Jesus is dealing with the death of a close friend and he turns the whole idea of death upside down by telling Martha, "I Am the resurrection and the life" and then proving it by raising Lazarus from the dead!  It is so important to the see the problem, the purpose, the promise, and the proof that emerges through this scripture.  You will be "surprised" by how this will change your perspective about death and about the fear that comes with it.  Join this Easter Sunday as we celebrate the risen Christ!   Sun, 05 Apr 2015 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/26764.mp3 Empty Promises - Part 4 - The Way The Truth The Life Empty Promises - Part 4 - The Way, The Truth, and The Life  This next "I Am" promise from Jesus in the Gospel of John is different from the others because this one does not describe what Jesus will do for those believe in him, but rather makes bold claims about WHO Jesus is.  This exclusive and emphatic claim to be the ONE WAY and the ONE TRUTH and the ONE LIFE is uncomfortable to many in our modern world of tolerence and political correctness, but it makes perfect sense as you understand that Jesus is the exclusive fulfillment of God's inclusive grace and love to all the world!  He is the answer for the world today, if they will choose to accept the ONE bridge to God! Come join us as we investigate the great truths behind The "Bread of Life" and the "Light of the World".    Sun, 22 Mar 2015 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/26485.mp3 Empty Promises - Part 1 - The Good Shepherd and The Gate Empty Promies - Part 1 - The Good Shepherd and The Gate   We begin our investigation of the Promises of Christ and how the resurrection confirms these promises with two of the "I AM"'s from John 10.  Here Christ declares himself to be "The Good Shepherd" that lays down his life for His sheep and "The Gate" through which all can come to be saved.  Christ makes a point to contrast himself with all others that have come before and those who are supposedly the shepherds of Isreal.  He makes two great points which relate to the resurrection: 1) He tells us that he has the authority to lay down his life and TO TAKE IT UP AGAIN and 2) I have come that they might have Life - both now and forever!  These promises are empty except for the resurrection of Christ. he cannot take his own life up if he is dead - he cannot promise us life NOW and in the FUTURE if he is dead. He arose! He is alive! He is the good shepherd!  He is the Gate!  Praise be to God!!! If there is a difference, what does it look like?  Join us as we share the story of one person, whom Jim Cymbala in his book "Breakthrough Prayer" calls "The first lady of prayer", named Hannah in I Samuel chapter 1.  There is so much that we can learn about prayer from this person and this situation.   Sun, 22 Feb 2015 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25899.mp32620 Loving People - Part 3 - Radical Love with Music Loving People Even When They Are Weird! Part 3 - Radical Love Mattthew 5:43-48 As if loving our neighbor wasn't hard enough and loving our families was not a challenge, Jesus Christ takes the concept of love to a Radical level in his command from Matthew 5.  In this sermon, we will ask three questions - I.  Who is your emeny?  II. Why should we love our enemies? and III. How should we love our enemies?  Jesus was truly radical in the truths that he taught and the life that he lived and the way he died - in this red letter truth he cuts to the heart of our faith and our spiritual life by calling us to love even our enemies. At the conclusion of this sermon, I have added a couple of songs from our worship team led by Micah Williams, our worship leader.  These songs are for you to enjoy as you consider the awe of the one who paid it all. Join us as we recognize the call and the challenge of Loving people even when they are weird. It's time that we confront the truth that we face liars and lies every minute of every day.  Only the truth found in the teachings of Christ can set us free.  Thanks so Michael Liesure for working with me on the skit that opens the message! Third, we see God's commission to us all. Fourth, we see God's costly choice in Christ. This all leads us to ask the question, "What shall we do?"  Join us as we consider the source. Sun, 11 May 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/18577.mp32749 Consider the Source - Part 2 - The Word of God Consider the Source - Part 2 - The Word of God We have decided to beleive that the Bible is The Word of God!  Simply put, after over 2000 years of attack from every side, the Bible remains the most unique collection of texts in human history.  The precepts expressed in the 66 books written over 1500 years through the plenary verbal inspiration of the Holy Spirit through over 40 different writers has transformed lives and changed the world.  The Word of God is profitable for every Christian to a source of teaching, reproving, correcting, and training in the ways that please God. There is no possible way that a person can be ready to do all that God has imagined for them without knowing and learning the Word of God. Consider this source with us today. Sun, 04 May 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/18420.mp32321 Consider the Source - Part 1 Prayer Prayer   The source has to begin with Prayer.  Prayer is the most important skill practiced by Christ and the early church as our examples of how we should live out the Christian life day by day and hour by hour.  Our scripture for this sermon centers around Colossians 4:2 where we are challenged to "Devote yourself to prayer".  We will look at the additude of prayer, the admonitions to pray, and the Acts of prayer while discussing the impotance of prayer as the source of our strength and ministry at WellSpring.  Join us as we Consider the Source: Prayer. Sun, 27 Apr 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/18223.mp32636 Come and See - Part 4 - Christ as Living Lord Come and See - Part 4 - Jesus the Living Lord We come to the final step in our journey of discovery where we deal with the most important evidence of who Christ is.  Our skeptics always return to this event because they claim that if they can disprove the resurrection that they can destroy the message and validity of Christianity as a whole.  If they will "come and see" the tomb of Christ and investigate the appearances of Christ following His resurrection, they will have to come the conclusion that Christ truly is the "Son of God" and the "Messiah".  This message investigates the evidence of the empty tomb, the Roman Government involvement, the eye-witness accounts and the birth of the Christian Church as the absolute proof of who Christ Jesus really is.  Sun, 20 Apr 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/18015.mp32443 Come and See - Part 3 - Jesus as Miracle Worker Come and See - Part 3 - Jesus as Miracle Worker By definition, a miracle is something that happens beyond the laws of nature and therefore requires supernatural intervention.  When it comes to evidences of who Jesus Christ really is, there is a profound list of positive proofs for the skeptic to consider because Christ was the most prolific miracle worker in human history.  This message looks at the categories of miracles that Christ is reported to have performed during His earthly ministry.  The final category is the MOST conclusive and lends the greatest evidence to the deity of Jesus Christ. At the climax of His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ performs one of His most intriguing miracles as Mary calls Him to "Come and See".  If you will only investigate for yourself the claims, the evidences, the teachings of Jesus Christ, you too will be transformed as the billions in history have been. Sun, 13 Apr 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/17892.mp32406 Come and See - Part 2 - Christ as Prophet Come and See - Part 2 - Christ as a Prophet Today we come to the second place in the Gospel of John where the phrase "Come and See" appears.  Last week it was a good Jew who had it all together and was surprised to meet Jesus and see what he was missing, and then in this instance, not a Jew and definately not a person who has it all together - a Samaritan woman who is coming to Jacob's well at high noon, all alone, and hopeless but clinging to her Samaritan pride.  When Jesus reaches out to her, and introduces her to himself, we learn so much about who Christ is and what he offers us and the world if they will only "come and see".  Sun, 06 Apr 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/17618.mp32290 Come and See - Part 1 - Jesus the Man The first appearance of this simple phrase "Come and See" in the Gospel of John is John chapter 1.  By this point Jesus had already given the world many evidences of who He really is, so when he calls his first disciples - Andrew, Peter, Philip, and Nathaniel, He has the facts to explain how He fits into the grand sweep of scripture from creation to Revelation. In this message, we will look at the evidences provided by the early ministr of Christ to help us lead our skeptical friends into udnerstanding who Christ is claiming and is viewed to be.  Sun, 30 Mar 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/17527.mp32153 Refuel - Part 4 - Knowing Refuel - Part 4 - Knowing Do you know that God loves you?  Do really know that love deep within your soul?  Paul's final prayer for the people of Ephesian Church and for us as those who come along behind is that we would know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge and in so doing we will be filled with the fullness of God.  Sun, 23 Mar 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/17350.mp32078 Refuel - Part 3 - Grasping The third step in our REFUEL process, after seeking the refilling of the Spirit, and the restoring of Christ's place on the stool of your heart, is to personally seek the power to grasp just how much God is crazy about us!  His love is bigger than we can even imagine and we will be refueled as much as we take time to grasp His love for us and through us to others.  Mon, 17 Mar 2014 00:00:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/17045.mp31933 Refuel - Part 2 - Dwelling - Sermon The second step in Paul's prayer for the Ephesian church to be "filled to the fullness of God" is to come into a deeper, more consistent relationship with Jesus Christ.  You may be a believer who has experienced a moment where Christ has become your savior, but is he becoming your LORD? Christ does not only want to visit and be in your heart - he deserves to OWN your heart as Lord of your life and sit on the stool of your decision making. This is a process that begins with God and is empowered by the Holy Spirit as we receive from God the strength in our inner man to become the person God wants us to be.  This is the process of refueling - reconnecting with the Spirit and with Christ our Lord! Sun, 09 Mar 2014 10:30:00 -0500 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/16890.mp32205 Refuel - Part 1 - Empty? Empty?  In this first message in the series, we look at the concept of being spiritually empty and we ask the question, "how does that happen?". What are some of the indicators that we are running on empty? Also we we begin to look at the prayer of Paul in Ephesians 3 as we notice the first in his prayer sentences about being "filled with the fullness of God". It is no accident that Paul places our relationship with the Holy Spirit as the first and foundational part of our call to REFUEL.  Sun, 02 Mar 2014 11:15:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/16697.mp32010 Hear, Speak, Do - Part 4 - The Hypocrites Prayer Hear, Speak, Do - Part 4 - The Hypocrites Prayer As we come to the end of our series in Jeremiah we look at the end of his life and ministry.  The city of Jerusalem has been destroyed, the temple of Solomon has been desecrated, and the Govenor of the territory assigned by Babylon has been assassinated and the small remnant of Jews still alive decide to flee to Egypt for protection and comfort.  On the way, the people ask Jeremiah to seek the Lord on their behalf to determine if this is the right course of action or not.  However, their prayer was a hypocrites prayer - then never really intended to hear or do what the Lord wanted.  Even though God's Word clearly told them to stay in Jerusalem they rebelled once again to move to Egypt. This sermon helps us know what some very important questions we need to ask ourselves to know whether what we are doing or about to do is from God or not.  Then we have to have the courage and the faith to do it! Sun, 23 Feb 2014 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25844.mp3 Hear, Speak, Do - Part 3 - A Fire ... In My Bones Hear, Speak, Do - Part 3 - A Fire ... In My Bones When it comes to sharing our faith, the statistics tell us that most committed Christians do not share their faith at all.  Even among the most committed, only 12% share their faith on a regular basis in their family.  Having seen in the past messages that God is speaking and that Jeremiah is hearing the voice of God on a regular basis in his life, the question comes to mind - why has God spoken to Jeremiah? The answer is obvious - God desires that Jeremiah would speak the message The Father has given to him to His people in Judah so that they would repent and be saved rather than continue on their perilous path to destruction.   When we think of our world and our lives, what is keeping us from speaking the message that God has given us to speak? Is there a burden for those whom God loves?  Where do we get this burden?  Why did Jeremiah have this fire in his bones? It's time to stop playing "hot potato" with the "Word of the Lord" and start taking responsibility to fulfill the great commission today. Sun, 16 Feb 2014 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25842.mp3 Hear, Speak, Do - Part 2 - Opportunity To Hear Hear, Speak, Do - Part 2 - Opportunity To Speak Last week we heard about the fact that The Lord Speaks and He speaks through several means in order to have a personal relationship with those who desire that relationship.  Today we are focused on hearing.  In Jeremiah, the prophet is an excellent example of one who wants to hear and understand what God wants him to speak and do.  In this message, we look at some practical ideas about how to know we are hearing the voice of God rather than other voices and we will look at 3 different moments in Jeremiah where God gives the prophet and the people of Judah an "opportunity to hear". We will see that Jeremiah was listening and obeying whereas Zedekiah and the people of Judah would not hear and obey. The consequences of NOT hearing or hearing and NOT obeying were huge for the people of Judah and the city of Jerusalem.  Sun, 09 Feb 2014 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25840.mp3 Hear, Speak, Do - Part 1 - God Speaks Hear, Speak, Do - Part 1 - God Speaks Sun, 02 Feb 2014 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25838.mp3 The Art of Marriage - Part 4 The Art of Marriage - Part 4 - Commitment The last sermon of this series takes as back to the beginning. In the Gospel of Matthew, in the red letters, Jesus makes a statement about marriage and divorce based on what God did in Genesis and this statement reminds us that our commitment to marriage is really our commitment to our covenant with God.   Sun, 26 Jan 2014 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25771.mp3 The Art of Marriage - Part 3 The Art of Marriage - Part 3 - Forgiveness Marriage is an Art rather than a science. The little things usually turn out to be the largest problems.  Unforgiveness is a destructive force that can destroy love and unity.  In Colossians 3, the Apostle Paul is speaking about what it takes to live out the Christian life. When looked at through the eyes of marriage, this passage speaks volumes about how to forbear and forgive in marriage. Sun, 19 Jan 2014 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25770.mp3 The Art of Marriage - part 2 The Art of Marriage - Part 2 -  Marriage is hard!  Especially when so many spouses are refusing to grow up and take responsibility.  In I Corinthians 13, the Apostle Paul gives us the clearest picture of what true love looks like.  In verse 7 specifically, The Spirit calls us to do four things that are very mature and challenge us to get over ourselves and consider others more important than ourselves.  Sun, 12 Jan 2014 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25769.mp3 The Art of Marriage - Part 1 The Art of Marriage - Part 1 - Communication When we think about marriage we recognize that the greatest challenge in our marriages is communication. In James chapter 1 verse 19 we have the simplest and one of the best outlines for how to communicate in marriage.  Sun, 05 Jan 2014 10:30:00 -0600 http://www.welcometowellspring.com/_getmedia/25772.mp3
